Story

He Jianwu, PhD, is a research PI at the National-Local Joint Engineering Laboratory for Eucommia Comprehensive Utilization Technology at Jishou University and Deputy Director of the Teaching, Research and Student Affairs Center at the Zhangjiajie campus. He has long worked on the comprehensive development and utilization of Eucommia resources, focusing on Eucommia feed application technologies and equipment. Using chlorogenic acid and aucubin from Eucommia leaves and seed meal as key control factors, he has developed Eucommia feed additives applied across aquaculture, pig, cattle, sheep and poultry farming.

While serving as a seconded cadre selected by Hunan Province in Yongshun County, he brought Eucommia research achievements deep into the Wuling Mountains, leading local enterprises and farmers to develop a Eucommia-based livestock industry reaching single orders of more than 12,000 Eucommia cattle. His antibiotic-free Eucommia feed formulations have achieved precise digitalized production in cooperation with enterprises, launching products such as Eucommia eggs and Eucommia feed - practicing the translation path of Eucommia 'from the laboratory to the production line' and becoming a representative young scholar in Eucommia feed research.

• In November 2024, attended the 2024 China Eucommia Industry Development Summit Forum and gave a thematic exchange on Eucommia feed
• In May 2025, delivered the report 'Effects and application prospects of Eucommia feed' at the Eucommia Industry Development Seminar in Guigang, Guangxi, and was appointed expert adviser
