TCM quality expert undertaking the MIIT project 'Research on Quality Standards for Eucommia Medicinal Material and Decoction Pieces'

Story

Zhang Yuan is a professor at the School of Chinese Pharmacy, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, whose research focuses on the pharmacodynamic substances and quality standards of Chinese and ethnic medicines. Her MIIT TCM standards project 'Research on Quality Standards for Eucommia Medicinal Material and Decoction Pieces' systematically addresses authenticity and quality evaluation, marker components, and quality control systems for Eucommia, serving the national TCM standardization strategy.

She has also undertaken TCM standardization projects of the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and related Chinese Pharmacopoeia Commission projects, transferring her quality-standards research experience to Eucommia and providing scientific support for improving the Eucommia quality evaluation system of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia. She is a young backbone researcher in Eucommia pharmacopoeial standards.
